Final Score: Leafs 3, Islanders 6

A night after winning 6-3 in Buffalo, the Leafs fell by the same score Saturday night at home.

This game saw zero (0!) penalties called. I haven’t decided if that’s a good or bad thing.

William Nylander finished with two goals but it was not enough as the Leafs were not aggressive enough early in the game.

The Islanders owned the face-off circle in this Saturday night showdown, winning just under 65% of draws. Uncharacteristic for the Leafs.

Oakville’s Isaiah George scored his first goal, a cool moment for him and the Islanders franchise.

The Leafs and Panthers now have an identical record at the top of the Atlantic division.

Question for the Islanders: With 13 wins through their first 34 games, will New York be able to recover and build momentum after the holidays?
