4/82: Monday, October 27 @ San Antonio
After a record-breaking opener, the Toronto Raptors have lost three straight.
Final Score: Raptors 103, Spurs 121
Victor Wembanyama finished with 24 points and 15 rebounds, propelling the San Antonio Spurs to a 4-0 record on the young season.
After going down 41-29 by the end of the first quarter, the Raptors never seemed to be able to find their footing Monday night. This loss may have flow under the radar.
Most of Canada was up late watching the back-to-back baseball games. Well, it was one game that refused to end.
As for the Raptors, RJ Barrett led all scorers with 25 points on 50% shooting from the field.
I find it a bit odd that Scottie Barnes only took seven shots in 30 minutes of play, especially considering he finished with a meager stat line of 8pts, 3rebs, and 2asts. He also added a block and two turnovers.
Wembanyama going 7/8 from the field and 10/10 from the line is just other-worldly stuff. But then again, he might be other-worldly himself.
It was nice to see Collin Murray-Boyles finish with 19 points and three made 3pt shots. Encouraging signs from the first-round rookie who is mostly known for his defense.
As well, Immanuel Quickley tallying seven assists and zero turnovers is a great sign. High-usage guards getting touches and taking care of the ball will always be a positive, regardless of how the game goes.
The Raptors finish off in Texas tomorrow night, visiting Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets. 6:30pm tip off.
