4/30: December 18th @ NY

A nightmare second period spelled doom for the Sceptres.

Final Score: Sceptres 2, Sirens 4

It was 0-0 after 20 minutes. The next intermission saw the game get turned on its head by the home team.

Four players scored their first goals of the season. Two of those came on power-plays.

The Sceptres did get on the board in the third, however. Hannah Miller scored her second of the season and Emma Woods netted her first.

Toronto managed 14 shots in the third after giving up 14 in the eventful and ultimately game-breaking second period.

Kristen Campbell stopped 17 of 21 shots against through two periods. Raygan Kirk took over in the third, stopping all nine shots she faced.

Toronto sits at the bottom of the standings now, the same place they were about this time last season (earlier this year). They’ve shown they can recover - making the semi-finals before Natali Spooner’s injury last season. There’s ground to make up, but time is also on their side for now.

Question for the Sirens: After finishing the inaugural season at the bottom of the standings and drafting Sarah Fillier #1 overall, just how improved will the Sirens be come the playoffs? They currently sit second in the PWHL, two points behind league leaders Minnesota.

Toronto takes on Montreal at home Saturday. 2pm puck drop.
